A Big Day Out for Spot Lane Nature Reserve

Maidstone's Big Day Out

We will be giving 2 guided tours, one at 10.30am and one at 1.30pm to talk about the 5 year restoration plan. The meeting point is Spot Lane jw Deringwood Drive.

The nature reserve has been allowed to flourish untamed for many years, creating a landscape that is wild. This special event serves as a platform to unveil an ambitious five-year restoration plan—one designed to rejuvenate the reserve, enhance its ecological balance, and transform it into a thriving sanctuary. The ultimate vision is to create a haven where wildlife can prosper and where local residents and visitors alike can immerse themselves in the wonders of nature, experiencing its tranquillity and splendour for generations to come.

The work is a partnership approach between Natural England, Maidstone Borough Council, Downswood Parish Council and Bearsted Parish Council.
