Councillor Peter Fincham

I moved to Downswood with my wife Anne in 1999 and have raised our two children in what I see as a wonderful community. My children attended Madginford Primary School where my wife is currently the receptionist. I joined and became an active member of the PTA which culminated in me becoming the chairman. In my time being the chair of the PTA I oversaw further fund-raising activities which helped the school purchase more materials and experiences to enhance the learning and enjoyment for the children, I was also on the board of Governors of the school.
I have worked for His Majesty’s Prison Service for 28 years, specialising in addiction rehabilitation which has helped me to gain a range of skills. I have previously been a member of the Parish Council but was unable to give the position the time that I would have wanted, I have now rejoined the council and with my impending semi-retirement this will give me the time to put in the work to help and assist the residents of Downswood.
I enjoy working with members of the council to make Downswood a place that everyone can be proud of.
