Church Road - Safety Measures

Otham and Downswood Parish Councils came together today with the Leader of KCC and officers to open a much‑needed conversation about safety along Church Road. The dialogue was open, constructive, and grounded in real experience, with KCC able to see for themselves the challenges that residents navigate every day. Their response was genuinely positive, giving us confidence that progress is possible.

This is only the beginning, but it is a promising one. The work ahead will require continued effort from both the Parish Councils and KCC, and it is heartening to see a shared willingness to move forward in partnership.

Just a few weeks ago, we also met with KCC to start shaping improvements for pedestrians and cyclists along Deringwood Drive at a difficult and dangerous crossing point by the shops
